hhhhm the site http://www.tomcruiseforever.com... seems to have disappeared.... this is quite a professional looking site and would have a lot of stuff that could only have come from insiders [his PR people?]..... I love a mystery.... here's the last grab I got. I should add that you couldn't contact anyone there and there were no comment possibilities at all.
These Are the last photos to date....
Former King of QueensActress Really Sticking it to the Scientologists
Considering the silly things most religions force on their adherents, Scientology probably isn't really much more ridiculous. Still, it is typically taken less seriously than religions with longer histories. According to Wikipedia, it isn't even considered aproper faithin many countries: "[T]he organization is considered a commercial enterprise in Switzerland, asectein France, a cult in Chile, and a non-profit in Norway."
One thing Scientology does have in common with "real" religions is it has its fair share of heretics. One that has been making quite a nuisance of herself is actress Leah Remini, who you may remember from the CBS programKing of Queens(and if you're a certain age you may remember her fromSaved by the Bell). A month ago, Ms. Remini left the Church of Scientology, reportedly due her disagreement with some of the organization's policies onexcommunication and what have you.
Last week, Ms. Remini continued to make herself a thorn in the Church's side byfiling a missing person reportfor the wife of a Scientology leader, Shelly Miscavige, who apparently hasn't been seen in public for years. Although part of us would like to believe the worst about Scientology and was kinda sorta hoping Ms. Remini's complaint would be the Watergate break-in that brought the whole shebang crumbling down, it turns out Mrs. Miscavige isalive and well. Which is great news, of course.
So Scientology lives to fight another day, but Ms. Remini can take comfort in the fact that thespiteful statementissued by the Church's PR department is hilarious in a lady-doth-protest-too-much way. "[T]he entire episode was nothing more than a publicity stunt for Ms. Remini, cooked up with unemployed, anti-religious zealots…who blog on the fringe of the Internet."
Speaking of fringe, this story is a great opportunity to revisit the classic "Trapped in the Closet" episode ofSouth Parkfrom 2005. Its explication of Scientology's creation myth is truly something to behold.
None of which is to say that Scientology is less legitimate than any other religion on the market. One of the hallmarks of a serious religion is its ability to make its adherents believe in and do ridiculous things. Scientology certainly lives up to that standard.
