‘I Auditioned To Be Tom Cruise’s Wife’: Ex-Scientologist Claims She Underwent Secret Auditioning Process Before Katie Holmes
Tom Cruise has been married three times, but in a new report a woman has come forward with a bombshell claim that before he tied the knot with Katie Holmes, the Church of Scientology put her through a secret audition to see if she was worthy of his hand in marriage.
Anette Johansen, a 27-year-old Norwegian woman, detailed her experience with the church in a new interview with Australia’s Women’s Day, and said she believes that a video she made for the church was actually an audition to be the next Mrs. Tom Cruise, but says she is glad she didn’t marry him.
Anette revealed that she was a member of Scientology helping with disaster relief in Thailand following the tsunami on behalf of the church, and they filmed her delivery aid to the areas in need. She said that in early 2005 the church contacted her to film a training video.
According to the report, she claims “I was the only person asked to audition,” about the tape she believes would have made her Tom’s third wife, after Mimi Rogers and Nicole Kidman.
“They asked me so many questions about my life, my family background, everything I’d ever done in Scientology. There was a lot of talk about Tom Cruise at that time – he had just been in Norway [hosting] the Nobel Peace Prize Concert.”
She recalled that preparation for the video seemed extreme to her. “A film crew of four turned up, along with a make-up and hair stylist who made me look very glam – loads of eye shadow, mascara and lip gloss. I prefer a natural look but they told me I had to have lots of makeup.”
Anette said that she remained in the dark about her true audition tape, and said it wasn’t until reading former Scientologist Paul Haggis’ New Yorker article about the church’s search for a new wife for Tom after his divorce from Nicole Kidman that she realized what the real reason for her video was.
“It was exactly the same! Every little detail was the same – there is no doubt that I was auditioned to be Tom’s wife.”
Anette said after she filmed her initial video she had received a call from a church member. She said the interview was “extremely weird.”
According to Women’s Day, Marc Headley, a former senior Scientologist who was in charge of putting together a reel of women for Tom to review, confirmed her claim.
“Anette was auditioning for Tom Cruise,” he said.
“Those were the exact same questions they were asking the other girls. This girl had to be perfect in every way.”
Ultimately, Anette was not Tom’s next wife, he had daughter Suri Cruise with Katie Holmes in April 2006 and married her in a lavish ceremony in Rome in November of the same year.
“I think what happened to Katie is terrible,” Anette says about the women who divorced Tom in 2012. “Even now it must be very difficult for her because she still has a child with him.”
Anette also told Women’s Day that she is thankful to not have become the third Mrs. Cruise.“I’m very happy that I wasn’t matched up with him.”
In response to a prior report claiming that the Church conducted auditions, the Church stated, “There was no project, secret or otherwise, ever conducted by the church to find a bride (via audition or otherwise) for any member of the church. Never. “

My Tom Cruise audition
Today the news broke in the magazine Woman’s Day in Australia about my 2005 audition to be Tom Cruise’s next wife.
The story was picked up online by journalist Tony Ortega, read his post here.
(UPDATE: Due to heavy traffic, you might see my blog with minimal design…)
And by the way, I prefer intellectuals.
As a “Self-Promoting Blogger Living on the Fringe of the Internet” (The Church of Scientology’s standard label for any of its online critics), I recommend you to read some of my articles regarding my 10 years in Scientology, the Self-Promoting Religion Living on the Fringe of Society:

When I wrote “I will put ALL THE CARDS on the table” I wasn’t even thinking of this story. What else I’ve got up my sleeve is a lot juicier. I will wait until after the media responses have cooled down after the release of Geir Isene’s hard-hitting book before I reveal the most damaging secrets about the Church of Scientology.
Nicole Kidman on Life After Tom Cruise Divorce: 'I Smile Now'
She admitted being crushed after her divorce from superstar Tom Cruise.
But a decade later Nicole Kidman has found happiness.
When asked by the Australian newspaper The Border Mail whether or not she was happy, the 46-year-old answered, 'Yes. Happy in the sense that I have my girls and my husband and I have a very, very strong real life to counter-balance my fantasy life now.'
'My fantasy life used to outweigh that more and now I've kind of balanced it, which is a lot healthier,' she said in the article published Wednesday.
'I smile now!' she added.
She said she makes her work schedule revolve around her family life with country music star husband Keith Urban, who she married in 2006, and their two young daughters.
The Australian beauty met Tom on the set of the 1990 auto racing film Days of Thunder and a whirlwind romance ensued.
The two got married on Christmas Eve in 1990 in Telluride, Colorado and adopted two children before they divorced in 2001.
The Oscar winning actress opened up to the magazine while promoting her new movie Stoker that will be released in Australia at the end of this month.
Nicole said she was drawn to the thriller by South Korean indie director Park Chan-wook because it seemed like a challenge.
'In the second half of my life, I don't want to succumb to any complacency,' she said. 'I want to push myself and keep pushing myself to places of discomfort and discovery. I am still very curious.'
Nicole said the director, who doesn't speak any English, sought her out for the role.
'He just said he wanted to make a film about bad blood. It sounded very Korean!,' Nicole said.
'How that is passed on through a family, whether that actually happens, nature versus nurture; all that was really fascinating to me,' she added.
The movie previously was screened in January at the Sundance Film Festival in Colorado and at the Glasgow Film Festival in February.
Nicole is the mother of her two adopted children with Cruise and her two daughters Sunday and Faith with Keith.

Sleepy Suri can't seem to shake the Monday morning blues as she accompanies mom Katie Holmes to the set of her new movie
|
Who said hanging around on a movie set all day was fun?
Certainly not Suri Cruise, that's for sure.
The youngster is currently in Cleveland, Ohio, where mom Katie Holmes is filming her new movie, Miss Meadows.
Not such a glamorous life: Suri Cruise appeared unimpressed and more than a little tired as she strolled to the set of Miss Meadows with mom Katie Holmes in Cleveland, Ohio early Monday morning
Celebrity royalty: While the seven-year-old has grown up on movie sets with famous parents Katie and Tom Cruise, she looked like she'd have rather been anywhere else as she clutched her blanket and cuddly toy
The seven-year-old has become a regular fixture on the set of the comedy, visiting her mom between taping her scenes, popping out for ice-cream and doing a spot of shopping.
But Katie's mini-me lookalike daughter appeared incredibly tired and a little restless as the pair strolled through the town to set on Monday.
Dressed in fun turquoise three-quarter leggings, a long blue and white striped T-shirt and pretty floral shoes, the celebrity offspring clutched a white and pink spotted blanket and her favourite grey stuffed animal for the early morning outing.
Mondayitis: At one point, the youngster used her stuffed toy as a pillow as she walked along with her eyes shut
Age-appropriate: Suri looked sweet in her fun turquoise three-quarter leggings, long blue and white striped T-shirt, bright pink puffa jacket and floral flats
Mother-daughter bonding: Suri has become a fixture on the set of the comedy, which is filming in Katie's home state during the month of August
Little Suri was positively exhausted, at one point using her cuddly toy as a pillow as she walked along, head tilted to the side, resting on the soft material, with her eyes shut.
Katie, meanwhile, was dressed in character, all ready to begin her day of filming.
The 34-year-old wore a pretty white knee-length cotton dress with cut-out detail, cinching her waist in with a nude-coloured belt.
A vision in white: The 34-year-old stood out in her pretty cotton dress with cut-out detail, which was cinched in at the waist with a nude-coloured bow and teamed with cute white socks and black buckled shoes
Style chameleon: A short while later, it was another costume change for the mom-of-one, who donned a pretty floral belted dress to film scenes
Looks can be deceiving: The star was in her element strutting down the street in her Sunday best, complete with long white gloves in her role as a gun-toting substitute teacher on a mission to rid the community of evil
White cotton socks and heavy black buckled shoes - which have become her staple on the set - completed her outfit.
Her long brunette mane was softly curled and pulled back from her face with a simple hair clip, while her make-up was very minimal for the low-budget movie.
Both mother and daughter also had colourful warm puffa jackets with them to ward off the cool morning air.
Slippery little sucker! The actress dropped her handbag to the floor as she struggled with her gloves
Just the first in many outfit changes for the day, Katie soon swapped her simple white frock for a pretty knee-length white and pink floral number complete with long white gloves for her next scene.
Later, a clashing ensemble of knee-length red, white and black checked skirt and floral and checked navy blue shirt helped set the scene as she emerged from a shiny black vintage car.
Filming began in Katie's home state in early August and is expected to wrap by the end of the month
Vintage glamour: The star was later spotted in her third outfit for the day as she emerged from a vintage car in a colourful clashing print ensemble
Coffee run: The actress stepped out of character to take a Starbucks coffee break between scenes in her knee-length red, white and black checked skirt and clashing floral and checked navy blue shirt
