'John Travolta is so gay': Margaret Cho causes controversy as she brands her Face/Off co-star 'gay' in comedy routine

She is no stranger to causing controversy but Margaret Cho certainly shocked audiences on her recent Australian tour.
The comedienne decided to use John Travolta’s sexuality as the brunt of several of her jokes.
Cho, who starred with Travolta in the 1997 movie Face/Off, branded the married actor ‘gay’ several times during her routine.
Shocking: Margaret Cho branded John Travolta 'gay' several times during a show on her Australian tour recently
‘I’m going to get in trouble but I’ll just tell you,’ she said to the crowd. ‘He is so gay. John Travolta is so gay.’
But Cho, who is openly bisexual and a gay rights activist, didn’t stop there.
‘He’s not just gay. He doesn’t just like men,’ she said. ‘He is like Oscar Wilde gay… like Lord Byron gay.
Long-standing relationship: Cho, seen September 2012, and Travolta, pictured in January, have known each other since they starred in Face/Off together

‘That kind of crazy, incredibly flamboyant gay… I feel bad for him; because I know he would be much happier if he could just come out. But he can’t.’
Cho, 44, then proceeded to describe what it was like to act beside the 59-year-old on Face/Off, after claiming they spent a year together working on the action thriller.
‘It was a weird movie because the way that he worked on it was John Travolta, he can only work 10 hours a day,’ she said.

'I feel bad for him': The comedienne claimed 'he would be much happier if he could just come out. But he can't'
‘And part of the 10 hours is him flying his plane to the location and flying home. So essentially he only had to work like five hours a day.’
She went on: ‘He was so pampered and so taken care of, it was the closest I have ever been to being in the presence of a king,’ before adding, ‘Or a queen, actually.’
Cho ended her segment with the words: ‘But I felt bad for him because he was so gay and couldn’t be out about it.’
Travolta, who has been married to Kelly Preston since 1991, had two sexual harassment lawsuits filed against him last year by male masseurs, both of which were eventually dropped.
Making jokes at his expense: Cho, who also claimed Travolta was 'pampered', said she is 'going to get in trouble' for the comments

Margaret Cho Spills About John Travolta
Margaret Cho spent a year working with John Travolta almost everyday. She knows he is gay. He knows she knows he is gay and in this three minute clip she explains just how gay John Travolta is and how she knows he wants to come out, but can't.
A huge chunk of the internet was awash with Cruise signing on for MI5, Reacher 2 and Man From Uncle...... I wrote this on the previous story:
"I find it interesting that they're going all out to show his "supposed" schedule.... personally I think this is total PR puff and I genuinely reckon some of the comments I and others made about how he's losing his star appeal on various media sites was a major reason, especially as many others seemed to hold the same consensus.... those defending him really did come off as illiterate morons [bottom scrapings from the OSA barrel?]. The spin they're using is "worldwide" takings but a much lower percentage of that gets back to the studios compared to the domestic. If a "blockbuster" can't cover it's production budget in a month then it's a genuine failure behind the studios head-honcho doors. Add to that the ongoing melt-down of Narconon and Cruises's association and on record statements saying things such as: "In Scientology, we have the only successful drug rehabilitation program in the world. It's called Narconon," he's going to become more toxic, not less.
This is panic PR."
Anyway - I just checked again with the two Industry bibles for the movie business [Vanity Fair and The Hollywood Reporter] and neither of them mention this at all. To all intents and purposes it's not 'industry true' as this is a story that they would definitely write about and/or double check from source.
Now, what IS interesting is the story that Vanity Fair does put out about Cruise today.... that he's one of the most untrustworthy stars out there.... coincidence?
