Media Release: Tom Cruise Oblivion Movie Picketed by Anonymous in Ireland
Pete Griffiths from Dublin Ireland, announced today on a Facebook events page and on an 'Ireland Anonymous' website, that Tom Cruise's new 'Oblivion' movie opening will be picketed.
The protest event is scheduled for April 3rd 2013, by "the collective known as Anonymous", who will "launch 'Operation: Oblivious' by converging outside Dublin's Savoy Theatre at the European premiere of Oblivion in an effort to raise public awareness of the Scientology organisation's fraud and abuse.

Commenting on the planned demonstration, local ex-Scientologist Pete Griffiths said "I was conned for twenty years until such a protest opened my eyes to the enormity of the deceit. The sense of betrayal is just incredible. The clues are all there but you don't see them."
Cruise and other Hollywood icons like John Travolta, have faced media scrutiny for several months over Scientology's drug rehab, Narconon, and the 10 lawsuits in the USA and 5 human rights commission cases in Canada. Four patients dying in the Georgia and Oklahoma Narconons have stirred public outcry, pointing to Hollywood actors for supporting Scientology's dangerous practices.
One distraught mother said "If I could talk directly to John Travolta, I would tell him the program he is supporting is responsible for killing my daughter!"
'Anonymous' is well known as a dauntless, defiant, and resolute adversary of Scientology. On February 10, 2008, about 7,000 people protested in at least 100 cities worldwide - many wearing the famous Guy Fawkes mask to protect their identity from Scientology harassment and reprisals.
This is the second time in recent years that a Tom Cruise movie has been picketed. In December, 2008, Cruise's 'Valkyrie' was picketed, with critics walking the premiere carrying protest signs.
Griffiths notes that: "The Dublin 'Church' of Scientology is currently being sued for €100,000 by former member Kevin Stevenson, who is alleging fraud, undue influence, misrepresentation and infliction of emotional distress."
Dublin was the host of an international gathering of Scientology critics on June 30, 2012, highlighting a conference and a massive protest the next day.
Indeed the Irish are a tenacious Anonymous group. Griffiths commented to me in a recent interview: "Quite simply really, I will not be giving up….there's no amount of money would I accept to give up and walk away. No, I want to see the job done; I want to see it done in my lifetime; I want to see injustices righted, abuses stopped, fraud corrected - - I just want to see the right thing done."
This next Anonymous "Operation Oblivious" event is scheduled for Wednesday April 3rd 2013, at 6:00pm, at the Savoy Cinema, 17 Upper O'Connell Street, Dublin 1.

Cult leader Tom Cruise now has such enhanced powers that when he farts, rosebud petals fill the air.
The 50-year-old (in earth years) $cientologist actor is in Buenos Aires, Argentina promoting his new flick Oblivion (which is what you’ll probably be wanting after you go to see it) with stage-wife in training Olga Kurylenko and British actress Andrea Riseborough.
How much do you want to bet that both women were wearing floor-length gowns to hide the fact that they’re wearing flat shoes underneath?
Olga’s right up Tom Thumb’s street beard-wise, isn’t she? I’d love to know what she’s thinking here- ‘Yeah maybe I can do this, pretend to be dating him for a year in return for an elevated level of fame’ ?
Now we know why Katie Holmes looked so relieved yesterday.
Diminutive Thomas Mapother wore some pretty funky built up snail shoes to his Guest of Honour ceremony yesterday, but unfortunately forgot that humans need deodorant – you know what they say Tommy, hands up if you use Right Guard, hands down if youdon’t.
Whilst talking to reporters at the premiere Tom made some pretty odd comments about how he can identify with his character in Oblivion because he’s such ‘a fan’ of Earth.
Of course, Xenu’s actions have had direct influence on how humanity on Earth has developed but let’s all remember that knowledge is dangerous for the uninitiated and leave it that Tom’s a fan of his current home planet. *Taps nose*
