Katie Holmes 'plans divorce party'

Katie Holmes is reportedly planning to hold a “divorce party” later this month.
The actress filed legal papers to end her marriage to Tom Cruise on June 29 last year. It has been claimed that the star is set to mark the significant date in her life by meeting up with her closest friends this weekend. Katie is said to be eager to show pals how much they mean to her following a difficult 12 months.
“We understand she’s marking the occasion with a ‘divorce party’,” reports British magazine Grazia. “The mood will be ‘enjoyable and emotional’ with Katie wanting to thank them for their support throughout a momentous year.”
The bash is expected to be held at Katie’s favourite hotel The Jane in downtown Manhattan, New York City. Guests expected to attend include fashion collaborator Jeanne Yang, socialite Lizzie Tisch and Katie’s most recent confidante Spike Lee’s wife Tonya.
Those close to the 34-year-old say it has been “first and foremost a year of consolidation” after Katie found an apartment in New York City, appeared in a Broadway play and landed a deal with make-up giants Bobbi Brown.
She is now settled in the city with Suri, her daughter with Tom, and is slowly building a new life for herself.
However, Tom is still having an impact on her life as he wants to be closely involved with Suri’s education. Katie was apparently against her daughter attending a Scientology school, but her ex is determined that the religion should still be a factor in Suri’s life.
“She is still in a degree of conflict with Tom, for all the positive public statements, and he’s angling for Suri to have more involvement with Scientology. That’s kind of non-negotiable, but he’s so persistent it can wear you down,” a source said. “Tom let Suri attend a mainstream school so now he’s asking for a quid pro quo. He wants Suri to go to a Scientology summer camp, which is turning into a major sticking point. Katie’s not a hysterical woman, but she does sometimes worry if she’s bitten off more than she can chew. She knows what a tough adversary Scientology can be.”
While Katie appears to be moving on from her failed marriage to Tom, insiders claim she is still confused and frightened about her future. Katie has no regrets about her divorce, but reportedly sometimes misses the stability of her former life.
“Katie’s come a long way in a short period of time but, of course, it’s not all straightforward. She didn’t just leave Tom; she left a very secure situation where all her needs were taken care of. It was a stifling environment, but there’s a certain appeal to having people make your decisions for you,” a source said. “There’s been a lot of focus on the Scientology aspect of her time with Tom, and that’s been a major factor. It’s more than a religion – it’s a way of life – and stepping out of that can be daunting.”

Katie Holmes Isn’t Ready To Date
In May, speculation hit a fever pitch that Katie Holmes was in the middle of a nice, newly formed relationship with her Mania Days co-star Luke Kirby. This was something that the tabloids reported that drove her ex-husband Tom Cruise crazy. He was said to be livid over their new-found love and pictures of her straddling Luke were splattered all over the gossip rags.
We were happy to think that Katie had finally moved on from being under the thumb of Tom, as well as Scientology. It has already been almost a year since she abruptly called it quits with Tom after their marriage of six years.
Since, she has been linked to former boyfriend Chris Klein and most recently, Luke Kirby. Chris denied any reports of a reconciliation between the pair and stated that they were just friends. With regard to Luke, there hasn’t been any official confirmation that they have been more than just co-workers.
Katie has denied any rumors of a romance between herself and her co-star. In fact, the actress states that she only has plans to keep her daughter Suri her main priority. She also said that she is just not ready to date, thus dispelling the rumors of a romance between Katie and Luke.
In addition, a snitch close to the situation said that the chemistry between Katie and Luke was unbelievable. Katie is said to be adoring of her co-star and his kind ways.
Despite all of that, like so many others, we would really like to see Katie happy and in a healthy relationship. For such a long time, we felt as if she was being controlled by Tom and quite possibly, the church of Scientology. We feel that there is some truth to those reports, given the speed and secrecy that she used in order to leave Tom and the church quickly and safely.
Still, we have yet to hear as to whether or not the church has deemed her a Suppressive Person, but we’ve learned that Tom has been dealing with Katie through his people and not with her directly. It’s safe to say that when she does begin a relationship, she won’t be able to keep it under wraps for long.
David Miscavige In His Own Words
JUNE 26, 2013 BY LEAVE A COMMENT
For those who may not have heard of this — though if you spent any time in the church and attended even a single event, it is hard to imagine you have NOT — it is one of Miscavige’s favorite “accomplishments.” Written after 9/11 it was intended to be the “Come to Jesus” message for the faithful to get busy.
It was mostly written by Dan Sherman. Miscavige wanted to put out the issue, but did not plan on writing it himself. So, he called Marc Yager, Greg Hughes, Guillaume Lesevre, Lyman Spurlock, Ray Mithoff, Norman Starkey and others to his 11th floor conference room in the Hollywood Guarantee Buildiung and spent hours explaining to them what they were to write. Of course, nothing was acceptable, and he would spend more hours berating them for their “incompetence” in not writing something “like he would” (he could have written the whole thing in about 1/10th the time he took explaining, berating and J&Ding those executives). Eventually he called in Dan Sherman to write it for him.
It contains a lot of interesting statements, not the least of which is the para that Dirk quoted:
“At times. they are hidden by the social veneer of materialism-nifty cars, fancy houses and an economic ”boom” that only existed on paper with the latest dot.com worth billions one day and not one cent the next. Look even deeper and you find mankind’s ‘humanitarian’ objectives heading in the direction of MEST and ‘artificial intelligence,” all towards denial of the spirit. Instead of man, computers are the supposed salvation, evidenced by what comprises the world’s largest industry, generating billions for its owners. And what has this ignorance of the spirit and reliance on MEST wrought? Computers, heralded as “amazing,” but only capable of popping up an address book, phone number. mail order catalog… but they can’t yet help one human being…”
Compare this to the incessant and loud assertions about “Ideal Orgs”.
Among other things these buildings (the “orgs” are incidental) are by turns:
a. The proof that Scientology is expanding (just see ANY of the letters sent to the media about how they got it wrong)
b. The REAL story of Scientology (see ANY of the letters to the media)
c. The ONLY way to guarantee planetary clearing
d. An urgent priority in order to “release OT IX and X”
e. The most on Source and significant program in the history of Scientology
f. The unquestioned proof of the utter genius of “COB”.
g. All of the above in one long, strained blurt of Shermanspeak.
Now read the paragraph again.
It is an interesting study — just how far removed things are today from a dozen years ago when lip service was paid to theta and MEST concepts. And the ideals espoused by Miscavige resembled fundamental Scientology. These days there is no longer any pretense, though if you ask the clubbed seals walking glazed-eyed out of one of his events, “Mr.” Miscavige is absolutely the epitome of the perfect Scientologist and about as On Source as you could find in a universe where absolutes are unobtainable.
A microcosm that speaks volumes about how, with a concerted, constant and well executed campaign, you can convince a lot of people of ANYTHING, no matter the evidence before them.
Thanks again Dirk. It was an eye opener….
