Are you seeing what I'm seeing? A new report from the UK Airprox Board, which examines reports of air traffic safety violations, detailed multiple reports from several separate Dec. 30, 2012, sighting of unusual airborne artifacts.
Close encounters of the Scientology kind:
Pilots aboard three passenger planes in the vicinity of London's Gatwick Airport late last year reported seeing a pair of "flat, silver discs" hovering near the UK headquarters of the Church of Scientology.
Air traffic controllers also said that they saw six UFOs on radar screens before the objects disappeared, according to a report issued last week by the UK's Airprox Board.
The board examines reports of air traffic safety violations in UK airspace and recommends safety measures. Last week's report failed to find an explanation for the pilot sightings from last Dec. 30 at about 9 a.m. It did describe how a Boeing 777 pilot raised the alarm at 8:53 a.m. after spotting "two flat silver discs"over the Scientology headquarters in East Grinstead minutes from touchdown at Gatwick. The three pilots on the flightdeck said that they saw the objects about 100 feet below them, moving slowly or stationary, according to the report.

Scientology follower Tom Cruise has starred in numerous science fiction movies, but authorities are wondering about the scientific facts behind the recent sightings in the UK.
Minutes later a Boeing 767 and an Airbus 319 saw the same "saucer-like" shapes hovering about 1,000 feet above ground. The 777 crew said they looked "man-made" and "toy-like."
Airprox Investigators considered explanations including that the objects were balloons or kites.
The juxtaposition of UFOs and Scientology is not surprising. Some think that the movement, which purports to have the answers to life's questions, believes that aliens inhabit humans, although Scientologists insists the "alien descendent" theory is a set of "scurrilous statements, issued by the Internet fringe." The movement's most celebrated follower is actor Tom Cruise.
The encounter came the day before Scientologists supposedly carved messages to aliens in an "alien space cathedral" in the hills in northeastern New Mexico.

Flying Saucers Spotted Near UK Scientology HQ
Three passenger jets flying near Gatwick, London's second airport, had a close encounter with Unidentified Flying Objects shaped like flying saucers, a new report has revealed.
As the planes came in to land on 30 December 2012, the pilots reported seeing two discs hovering above the airport. The first to raise the alarm was the pilot of a Boeing 777, who reported spotting "two flat silver discs" at 0853 GMT.
According to The Sun, just minutes later, the crews of a Boeing 767 and an Airbus 319 observed the same "saucer-like" shapes. The crew of the 777 also claimed that they looked "man-made" and "toy-like".
Their claim has been confirmed by air traffic control staff, who said that six UFOs had appeared on their radar before suddenly vanishing.
Gatwick airport is to the south of London, not far from the UK headquarters of the Church of Scientology, in East Grinstead, West Sussex. According to Scientology - which was founded by L Ron Hubbard, a science fiction writer - aliens inhabit human bodies. Local wags have suggested that the UFOs had come for the Scientologists. The cult's most famous adherents are Tom Cruise and John Travolta.
But the sighting itself is being taken seriously. "The evidence is first rate. The witnesses are experienced pilots and there is radar evidence to back up their stories," Nick Pope, a former Ministry of Defence UFO investigator said.
The UK Airprox Board, the branch of the Civil Aviation Authority that investigates aerial near-misses over the UK, suspects the UFOs might have been weather balloons or kites. However, Pope insisted that "None of the theories holds water." The Airprox Board has classified the incident as level D - meaning it is unexplained.
UFO sightings across the world continue to draw attention and debate. In one photograph released recently by NASA a disc-shaped object can be seen hovering above the Earth's surface, emitting rainbow-like lights.
EVEN INDIA.....!
Pilots of three passenger planes saw two UFOs above Britain's Scientology base as they landed at Gatwick
- Three aircraft reports seeing 'two flat silver discs' on final approach
- Objects showed up on air traffic control radar - then vanished
- UFOs were just 100ft below one of the jets, a Boeing 777
- They were above Scientology HQ in East Grinstead, West Sussex

Three passenger jets sighted UFOs above Britain's Scientology headquarters on their approach to Gatwick Airport, a report has revealed.
Their pilots each saw 'two flat, silver discs', with some flying within 100ft.
Air traffic control then spotted six UFOs on their radars before they suddenly disappeared.
Spooky: Two UFOs, similar to the one pictured here, were spotted by jets on their approach to Gatwick, right
Eerie coincidence: The encounter happened very close to the British Scientology headquarters in East Grinstead, Werst Sussex
The encounter, which was probed by the UK Airprox Board, happened on December 30 just before 9am.
A Boeing 777 was flying over the Scientology headquarters in East Grinstead minutes from touchdown when all three pilots on the flightdeck spotted the objects about 100ft below them moving slowly or stationary, according to the report.
A following Boeing 767 also spotted the two white or silver discs, which were at approximately 1,000ft above ground. An Airbus A319 then landed before the objects disappeared from ATC screens.
Believer: Tom Cruise follows the controversial church, which says aliens inhabit human bodies
The crew of the first aircraft described seeing 'some some sort of toy'. The information was passed on to air traffic control and then to police.
Investigators offered the possibility the objects could have been balloons or kites but, with the UFOs remaining untraced, the incidents was deemed unassessable.
The encounter came the day before Scientologists, followed by actor Tom Cruise, carved a message to aliens in hills in New Mexico, America. The cult believes aliens inhabit human bodies.
The Airprox Board primarily investigates near misses between aircraft.

Girl power! Single mom Katie Holmes returns to parent duty with Suri Cruise after dinner with famed feminist Gloria Steinem
|
Single mother Katie Holmes was back on parenting duty on Friday after enjoying a power dinner with famed feminist Gloria Steinem earlier this week.
The 34-year-old actress, who is juggling her Hollywood career with solo parenting, took daughter Suri Cruise, 7, home from school in rainy New York on Friday while on a break from filming her new movie.
Mom duty: Suri Cruise and Katie Holmes were spotted on the school run in New York on Friday
It ended a busy week for Katie, who met up with Steinem, 79, for dinner at Carbone restaurant in Greenwich Village on Tuesday.
'Gloria and Katie were completely engaged in conversation,' an eyewitness told Page Six. 'They were hunched over the table to speak closer, even though they were sitting right next to each other.'
It's unclear exactly how Katie, who surprised the world - and Tom Cruise - when she dumped the Hollywood heavyweight and devout Scientologist Tom Cruise, and Gloria know each other, but both are natives of Toledo, Ohio.
Comfort first: The 34-year-old wore a green short-sleeved sweater and pulled her long brown hair back into a low ponytail
The actress and Gloria, a prominent figure the women's liberation movement in the late 1960s and 1970s, were joined by two other women for their meal. (Oh, to be a fly on the wall!).
Katie is currently filming Mania Days in New York, alongside costar Luke Kirby.
The film is a romantic comedy about two manic depressives who meet in a psychiatric hospital and begin a romance.
The costars are rumoured to be dating off-screen.
In mid May Luke was spotted taking Katie to dinner in the Big Apple and the duo were clearly enjoying one another's company.
