Breaking news from Texas this evening from Bert Leahy, the videographer that was hired by Scientology to ‘Squirrel Bust’ Marty Rathbun, was indeed an eye-opening 35 minute interview.
I met Bert Leahy in the summer of 2012 at the Narconon Arrowhead protest in Oklahoma, and I know Bert as a man with a caring heart … a man who seeks truth and justice for those who cannot help themselves.
Now he will be filming a multi-State, multi-city documentary across the United States, exposing the horrors of Scientology.
Bert feels he was duped and misled by both Scientology and then Marty Rathbun -- viewing Rathbun as the ‘MASTER of DISASTER” in his words this evening. For quite some time, Bert was disgusted and angry after being lied to and used by Scientology, but he also has negative thoughts about Rathbun.
Bert Leahy interview with Marty Rathbun:
Bert Leahy’s incredible story by Mark Collette: “Former Scientology film crew member describes surveillance activities in Ingleside on the Bay.”
I asked Bert how he feels today about what he went though.
“I can’t even explain the feelings and emotions I went through -- I know my destiny is to expose these people,” stated Bert when referring to families who were devastated by Scientology’s Narconon drug rehab.
After the traumatic experience Bert endured at the hands of Scientology, he says he first “felt like a real ass – what did I get myself into, but after meeting the parents of the dead Narconon victims, it completely changed my focus,” he said.
Bert said he’s not letting the past pull him down.
“Before, I was just … hey it would be like umm, a science fiction writer getting caught up in an alien space ship, and not writing about it when he got back to earth. I’m a videographer … that’s what I do, and then this story falls in my lap. Do you think I’m just going to tell my story and go away? It’s an addictively interesting and intriguing Scientology thing, and to get dragged into it in a matter of 2 weeks is mind blowing,” Bert lamented.
Bert Leahy interview on NBC Rock Center:
Bert said he didn’t know about the hidden dangers involved with Scientology and he’s pissed -- and feels betrayed by Marty Rathbun.
After helping Marty and giving interviews to support him, Bert feels he was ‘disconnected’ by Marty and other ‘independent Scientologists’. As soon as Bert informed Marty that he would attend the Narconon Arrowhead protest of the patient deaths and filming the event, Marty ‘disconnected’ and would not return his calls.
Now Bert Leahy from Texas, along with Colin Henderson from Oklahoma, and Paul Jay Salerno from California, will tour at least 28 Cities across the United States to film a Scientology expose.
Bert Leahy exposing John Travolta’s Narconon Arrowhead DEATHS:
With Bert Leahy’s documentary filming talents, Scientology could be in for a reckoning this summer – another nightmare for David Miscavige.
“It's hard to believe it's been almost 2 years since I blew the whistle on these thugs, and we’re going to give them hell. I will have ‘GoPro’ cameras mounted on the vehicle,” said Bert, and apparently Colin Henderson will use his talents to ‘wrap’ the car with impressive bright entheta signs to attract public attention to the truth about the evils of a cult in rapid decline.
We’re hoping to confirm more news about the tour this weekend and will publish in Part Two of many more to come as the story unfolds.

Mark 'Marty' Rathbun was once a top-level Scientologist who claims to have converted Tom Cruise to the 'faith'. When he fell out with Scientology's chief, David Miscavige, his was the biggest defection the cult suffered.
So Monday's documentary about Rathbun and the covert war he was engaged in with his former friends was always going to provide a rather bizarre peek into the minds of some of the most genuinely deluded and unpleasant people you could ever hope to avoid.
In Rathbun's case, however, the reason he split and formed his own Independent Scientology movement was because he felt Miscavige muscled in on his and Tom's friendship, whining: "He actually tried to denigrate me a little bit in Tom's eyes. It was crazy. Miscavige had to try and undermine me in front of Cruise."
Now, as religious schisms go, forming a breakaway church in a fit of pique that your boss stole your famous friend is hardly up there with rows about transubstantiation.
Rathbun, it turns out, was their chief enforcer – a Grand Inquisitor now seeing his own house being stalked by people using the very tactics he had trained them in.
So it was hard to share his righteous indignation at the way he was being treated as the programme followed him and his wife through a series of rather odd cat and mouse encounters with Scientologists.
There was no real criminality from the Scientologists, while Rathbun's attempts to paint himself as some sort of courageous religious dissenter was rather undermined by his constant whining about how Miscavige didn't give him the job he wanted.
As the whole thing descended into farce, the viewer was left with a few conclusions. For starters, nobody forces you to join a cult and you deserve anything you get if you sign up.
But as Rathbun ramped up the accusations and the church responded in equally petty kind, one thing became clearer than anything else – they really do deserve each other.
Q If Big Brother has any purpose, then it must surely be to remind the viewer that no matter how much their own lives suck, at least they're not as intellectually bankrupt as the contestants in the house.
In fact, a brief viewing during the week was enough to prompt one question – who is being experimented with here, the contestants or the viewers?

Matt Lauer admits to 'Cold War period' with Tom Cruise after THAT 'glib' jibe and reveals actor wanted rant removed from air
By JADE WATKINS
|
Matt Lauer has opened up about the aftermath of his 2005 bombshell interview with Tom Cruise.
The Hollywood star and devout Scientologist, now 50, infamously branded The Today Show host 'glib' after they disagreed over the use of anti-depressant drugs.
He also criticised Brooke Shields for her use of the medication in what remains one of the most talked about sit-downs in television history.
In an interview with Howard Stern on his Sirius XM show on Thursday, Lauer recalled the incident, telling Stern that as soon as he looked Cruise in the eyes that day, he knew the actor was going to erupt.
SCROLL DOWN FOR VIDEO...
Lashing out: Matt Lauer has admitted that he and Tom Cruise did not speak for a long time after the actor lashed out at him in a 2005 interview
He said that Cruise, who had previously jumped up and down on Oprah Winfrey's couch whilst describing his romance with now ex-Katie Holmes, was going through 'a weird time in his life and career' when the interview took place.
'There are times where, when you least expect it, you get someone who sits on this couch...and all of a sudden you say something and you can see in the person's' eyes a physical change,' Lauer told Stern.
'That was one of those times...I knew I was going to go in a certain area, and you watch the change, and then it's your job almost to get the hell out of the way.
You're 'glib': Cruise had viewers squirming in their seats and floored when he dubbed Lauer 'glib' after they disagreed over the use of anti-depressant drugs
It was in his eyes: Lauer said that as soon as he looked Cruise in the eyes that day, he knew the actor was going to erupt
Lauer said he immediately knew he had touched a nerve when the pair began arguing over psychiatry opposed to Tom's practice of Scientology.
'It touched a nerve, no question. That was a very big nerve in his life and in his belief system,' he told Stern.
Lauer also revealed that Tom's publicist called shortly after the infamous interview took place asking them not to include the anti-depressant debate.
'It was like, 'Yeah...without that, we don't have a segment,' Lauer explained.
Initially after the sit-down, Lauer said he and Cruise did not speak and that the actor apologised in 2008 for being 'arrogant'.
Friends again: The actor later apologised to Lauer in 2008 for his rant, admitting he was 'arrogant'
'I want to put it in perspective,' Lauer told Stern. '...because although there was maybe a Cold War period after that interview of about a year, he since has come forward and said, you know, that was a strange time in his life and he regrets the way it came across.
'(He) has gone out of his way to be awfully nice to me since then.'
In the now infamous interview with Lauer, Tom denounced Shields for taking anti-depressants and made a fingerjabbing attack on Lauer whilst describing the evils of the drug Ritalin, which is used to help children with Attention Deficit Disorder.
He criticised Shields for her drug use, calling her irresponsible and claiming she could have taken vitamins to cure her depression.
Critical: In the now infamous interview with Lauer, Tom denounced Shields for taking anti-depressants
In the interview Cruise said: I've never agreed with psychiatry, ever. Before I was a Scientologist I never agreed with psychiatry.
'And when I started studying the history of psychiatry, I understood more and more why I didn't believe in psychology.
'And as far as the Brooke Shields thing is, look. You gotta understand, I really care about Brooke Shields. I think here's a wonderful and talented woman. And I wanna see her do well. And I know that... psychiatry is... is a pseudo science.
A shocked Lauer then said to the actor: 'But Tom she said that this particularly thing helped her feel better.'
To which Cruise responded, in a lecturing tone: 'Matt, you have to understand this. Here we are today where I talk out against drugs and psychiatric abuses of electric shocking people, okay, against their will, of drugging children with them not knowing the effects of these drugs.
'Do you know what Aderol is? Do you know Ritalin? Do you know now that Ritalin is a street drug? Do you understand that?
Moving on: Tom greets the audience at a Wal-Mart shareholders meeting in Fayetteville earlier this month
As Lauer attempted to respond, Tom consistently interrupted the host.
'I understand there's abuse of all of these things,' Lauer told the actor before he was interrupted again.
'No, you see. Here's the problem. You don't know the history of psychiatry. I do,' Cruise fired back.
'(But) aren't there examples, and might not Brooke Shields be an example, of someone who benefited from one of those drugs?' Lauer offered in the interview.
'All it does is mask the problem, Matt. And if you understand the history of it, it masks the problem,' Cruise replied.
'That's what it does. That's all it does. You're not getting to the reason why. There is no such thing as a chemical imbalance.
The argument then intensified once again when Lauer continued to challenge the actor.
'Well, if antidepressants work for Brooke Shields, why isn't that okay?' he asked.
Fuming, Cruise replied: 'I-- I disagree with it. And I think that there's a higher and better quality of life. And I think that promoting for me personally, see, you're saying what, I can't discuss what I wanna discuss?'
As Lauer told Cruise he was free to discuss anything he wanted, Cruise told the host that he was making him feel like he can't.
Lauer told the actor that he was only trying to point out that there is a possibility that psychiatry could help cure some people.
'I'm only asking, isn't there a possibility that-- do-- do you examine the possibility that these things do work for some people? That yes, there are abuses,' he said.
'And yes, maybe they've gone too far in certain areas. Maybe there are too many kids on Ritalin. Maybe electric shock--'
It was at this point a furious Cruise lashed out at Lauer.
'Too many kids on Ritalin? Matt,' he said.
'Matt. Matt, Matt, you don't even-- you're glib. You don't even know what Ritalin is. If you start talking about chemical imbalance, you have to evaluate and read the research papers on how they came up with these theories, Matt, okay?
'That's what I've done. Then you go and you say where's-- where's the medical test? Where's the blood test that says how much Ritalin you're supposed to get?
Following the interview, Shields later branded Cruise's comments a "disservice to women everywhere" in an editorial in the New York Times.
She said if any good can come from the actor's 'ridiculous rant' it would give much needed attention to a serious condition.

But when your father is John Travolta, it’s easy to see why Ella Bleu was by his side on Thursday night.
The 13-year-old attended the premiere of Killing Season with the actor in New York.
We are family: John Travolta and Ella Bleu Travolta were at the Killing Season film screening in New York on Thursday
The pair looked adorable together as John – who portrays Emil Kovac in the motion picture - proudly wrapped his arm around his youngster on the black carpet.

A tale of two Katies! Holmes looks flawless in stunning new Bobbi Brown advert... as she goes make-up free for riverside stroll
|
With smoky eyes, strong brows and a dusky pink lip, Katie Holmes looks flawless in her latest advert for Bobbi Brown.
But Katie also has a stunning natural complexion as she walked alongside the Hudson River in New York on Wednesday.
The Bobbi Brown campaign shot shows Katie, 34, staring sexily into the camera with her hand behind her head as her brunette hair is swept back into a chignon to further highlight her features.
Smouldering: Katie Holmes' new campaign ad for Bobbi Brown's Navy & Nude Collection is unveiled
She wears a blue halter dress to fit in with the brand's new Navy & Nude Collection and finished off her look with a pair of delicate hoop earrings.
Au naturel: Katie went make-up free as she strolled in New York on Wednesday
Brown has told People that she wanted to give her first every celebrity ambassador an easy to create evening look to advertise her latest collection:
‘I wanted to give Katie a nighttime look that she would feel confident wearing and that still represents her own style.’
Bobbi Brown announced Katie as their celebrity face in September last year. This Spring has marked the launch of the actress’ collaboration with the brand, with the star revealing her excitement at her new venture last year:
‘Bobbi is exceptionally talented and Bobbi Brown cosmetics is a company that we, as women, all turn to because it is makeup that is very accessible and makes you feel pretty,’ Holmes said.
‘Sometimes it is just a lipstick or a blush that makes you feel like you can do what you need to do. Makeup is powerful and I am thrilled to be a part of this brand.’
Whilst Katie is looking preened and polished in her latest campaign shot, it seems she’s not exactly been taking tips from Bobbi in her personal life.
The actress was pictured looking deep in thought as she pounded the pavements in New York on Wednesday. Walking by the city’s Hudson River Katie looked like she’d put her casual look together in a hurry.
Frumpy and grumpy: Katie Holmes goes casual in jeans and trainers for a stroll near the Hudson in New York
Brushing up on her skills? Katie showed off a series of bizarre expressions on her day out, perhaps she's working on her acting technique amid rumours the actress is frustrated with her lack of work opportunities
Her scruffy pale blue jeans and spotted top are a far cry from the glam silk halter from her Bobbi Brown snap whilst the star’s chic chignon was replaced with a makeshift up-do.
Proving that she’s confident in her skin, Katie went make-up free for her stroll, showing off that flawless skin that no doubt helped win her the Bobbi Brown campaign.
It's been revealed that the busy working mum is focusing on her career and seven-year-old daughter Suri, with an insider insisting recently that Tom Cruise’s ex has no time for love since splitting from the Mission Impossible star over a year ago.
What's on your mind? Katie went make-up free for her New York walk with the star looking lost in thought
Despite recent reports linking her to her latest co-star Luke Kirby, an insider who has worked with the actress has told People: 'She’s lying low on the romantic side of things. She doesn’t need that right now. Her focus is on Suri,'
'I don’t think she’s ready...Once she left Tom, she got right back on track. Her attitude was "Okay, fine, let's get back to work." Things have been tough for her, but she's happy. She's moving on.'
The actress is keeping busy shooting her new film Mania Days in New York with co-star Kirby but according to the inside source, Katie has been frustrated by the lack of major opportunities in her work life.
The former Dawson’s Creek star suffered a blow at the beginning of the year when her Broadway play Dead Accounts closed after just two months.
'It’s been hard for her to find a job,' said a Hollywood insider close to Holmes. 'She hasn’t worked much, and it's not by choice.'

That's one way to stand out! Katie Holmes steps out in bold watercolour print maxi skirt after it's revealed she's struggled to find work
By CASSIE CARPENTER and JADE WATKINS
|
It has been reported that she's struggled to find work following her short lived stint on Broadway.
And Katie Holmes wasn't about to fade into the background when she emerged in New York on Thursday.
The 34-year-old actress stood out in a brightly coloured maxi skirt featuring what appeared to be a watercolour print of blues and reds on a yellow background.
Making a style statement: Katie Holmes stepped out in a brightly coloured maxi skirt as she went to lunch with a female pal in New York on Thursday
The mother-of-one paired the attire with a flimsy white T-shirt which she tucked into her skirt and a pair of red flats.
Her relaxed appearance was also evident in her hair and make-up.
Katie decided to go without any beauty products on her visage and wore her chocolate tresses up in a messy bun.
Artistic: Katie's skirt featured what appeared to be a watercolour print of blues and reds on a yellow background
Low-key: The mother-of-one paired the attire with a flimsy white T-shirt which was tucked into her skirt
The Dawson's Creek favourite's only accessorises were a pair of tortoiseshell frame shades and a leather handbag tucked under her arm.
Katie was seen enjoying lunch at Amaranth Italian restaurant on swanky Madison Ave with a friend.
The single star was having a great time throughout the meal, throwing up her hands and beaming while engaged in an animated conversation.

Following her meal, Katie was seen catching the subway home, lining up to get a ticket alongside other commuters before boarding her transportation.
Katie has been enjoying the company of her friends since her shocking divorcing from husband Tom Cruise.
The actress is still not ready to date - according to a producer who has worked with her before.
Trying to blend in: The pair were seated in the outdoor area surrounded by several other patrons
Animated: Katie was animated and made several hand gestures during the conversation with her pal
'She’s lying low on the romantic side of things. She doesn’t need that right now. Her focus is on Suri,' the producer revealed in People magazine's July 1 edition.
'I don’t think she’s ready...Once she left Tom, she got right back on track. Her attitude was "Okay, fine, let's get back to work." Things have been tough for her, but she's happy. She's moving on.'
The Dawson's Creek star suffered another blow when her Broadway play Dead Accounts closed January - just two months after opening at the Music Box Theatre.
'It’s been hard for her to find a job,' said a Hollywood insider close to Holmes. 'She hasn’t worked much, and it's not by choice.
Commuter: Following her meal, Katie was seen catching the subway home, lining up to get a ticket alongside other commuters before boarding her transportation
And Katie has reportedly had drop out of work commitments since she's had her hands full raising her daughter Suri.
The seven-year-old's last visitation with her 50-year-old father was the weekend of June 8 when Cruise was seen tossing Suri into a swimming pool at a Greenbriar resort in West Virginia.
'Katie seems flustered a lot,' one of her neighbors told People. 'You can see the struggle in her face. Suri is quite a handful.'
'You can see the struggle in her face. Suri is quite a handful': The 34-year-old actress has had to drop out of work commitments due to her devotion to her daughter Suri, who last visited her 50-year-old father June 8
The Batman Begins star sat out of her fashion line Holmes & Yang's fall presentation and she also dropped out of the film Molly.
Katie has been spending a lot of her time lately gazing into the eyes of her Mania Days co-star Luke Kirby.
The cosy colleagues play star-crossed lovers in the Spike Lee-produced romantic drama, and they evidently enjoy felafel lunch dates off-camera.
However, a friend of the Canadian hunk says Katie and Luke 'are just friends,' and that the Take this Waltz actor has a girlfriend.
Chemistry: Holmes has been spending a lot of her time lately gazing into the eyes of her Mania Days co-star Luke Kirby, and they evidently enjoy felafel lunch dates off-camera
'They spend lots of time together. Luke thinks Katie is terrific,' said Kirby's pal. 'They're supportive of one another.'
Mania Days director Paul Dalio was reportedly irritated that his leading lady was asked out seven times on the downtown Manhattan set.
'They were crew members and extras just chancing it,' a source told the New York Post. 'It really got on the nerves of director Paul Dalio. Needless to say, she said no to everyone.
'Luke thinks Katie is terrific': However, a friend of the Canadian hunk says Katie and Luke 'are just friends,' and that the Take this Waltz actor has a girlfriend
The divorced mother-of-one meanwhile has scored promotional gigs with jeweler H. Stern, Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, and haircare line Alterna.
Katie will next appear alongside Jean Reno, Allison Janney, and William Hurt in Days and Nights, a modern retelling of Anton Chekhov's The Seagull.
She'll also star opposite Gossip Girl hunk Chace Crawford in the romantic comedy Responsible Adults, about a man who realizes that his crush was his babysitter 15 years ago.
Happier times: Holmes' shockingly split from husband Tom Cruise last June after a whirlwind romance beginning June 2005

John Travolta still supporting Scientology drug rehab Narconon
Breaking news story today about John Travolta using 'Jett Travolta Foundation' money to supportScientology’s drug rehab has Travolta on the hot-seat once again.
Showbiz-411published: “Jett Travolta Foundation Donating More Money to Scientology Organizations” earlier today, giving details about “the group that performs bogus detoxification.”
“For years until the day Jett died the Travolta’s insisted Jett was not autistic but suffered from Kawasaki Syndrome. He was not treated for autism as Scientology doesn’t allow treatment of mental or brain issues. Jett’s “nanny” when he died wasn’t a trained nurse but a wedding photographer.”
Although charities like the ‘Jett Travolta Foundation’ are mandated to list their gifts and grants, details were omitted on the filed Tax Form 990.
In 2011, the Jett Travolta Foundation donated funds toNarconon and in 2013 to the International Detoxification Academy.
The Academy offers information and education regarding the use of detoxification to address the human consequences of chemical contamination and drug abuse.
One of the comments to the ‘Showbiz-411 story says: “It is utterly despicable that the Jett Travolta Foundation doesn’t donate money to Autism related charities. But then again, the Travolta’s took him off his Autism medications before he died. So I guess it is no surprise they use their dead son’s name to garner profits for their destructive cult.”
Jett Travolta Foundation:
“It may also use its resources, and make grants to (a) educate the public about the need for a clean environment; (b) provide relief and assistance to children who are victims of natural or man-made disasters; and (c) provide grief counseling relating to the loss of a family member or other tragedy.
It may also use its resources and make grants for other charitable, literary and educational non-profit purposes, which may assist or benefit children and/or adults.”
This is not the first time John Travolta has been ‘fingered’ for supporting Narconon and family members of deceased patients are upset with Scientology and Travolta.
“Grieving mother Connie Werninck's daughter was among those who died while under the facility's [Narconon’s] care. She settled her lawsuit out of court, but she had some choice words for the Grease star.
She said: "If I could talk directly to John Travolta, I would tell him the program he is supporting is responsible for killing my daughter!"
