Here I was thinking that Leah Remini was one of the more hardcore Scientologists and would hit you in the froat with an E-meter can if you talked crap about it, but I guess not. The New York Post says that Leah Remini woke up from the barley haze and quit Scientology for good. A source says that Leah took her Thetans and left, because she doesn’t like how Scientology’s head queen David Miscavige (which I always read as “David Miscarriage“) treats Scientologists and Sea Org members. When even Leah Remini thinks your ass is crazy, it’s time to throw your beliefs away and sink into a tub full of anti-crazy pills.
Tony Ortega, the former editor-in-chief of The Village Voice who has become of Scientology’s biggest arch rivals, reported a few days ago that after being a Scientologist for over 25 years, Leah has slowly been stepping away from the crazy and finally made a break for it. Tony wrote that during Tommy Girl and Katie Holmes’ wedding in 2006, which Leah was a guest at, she asked where David Miscarriage’s wife Shelly was. Shelly hasn’t been seen in public for years. One of Scientology’s media handlers snapped at Leah and told her that she didn’t have the“fucking rank” to ask that. After the wedding she wrote a complaint letter to the head whores at Scientology.
Leah complained about David Miscarriage’s management skills and added that she didn’t like that Scientology’s media handler Tommy Davis lied when he told the press that church members aren’t told to kiss off any relatives who leave Scientology. After she filed her complaint, Leah was sent to Scientology’s “Flag Land Base” in Clearwater, FL and was interrogated while hooked up to an e-meter. Leah was then told to take back her complaints and she was put through “modification” for five years. Some of Leah’s Scientology friends (KIRSTIE ALLEY, YOU BITCH!) turned their backs on her and her entire family was investigated. Leah had enough and quit that bitch. The Post’s source said:
“It all began when Leah questioned the validity of excommunication of people. She is stepping back from a regime she thinks is corrupt. She thinks no religion should tear apart a family or abuse someone under the umbrella of ‘religion.’ She’s from Brooklyn. The church can’t hurt her . . . they don’t have her family, that’s all that matters to her. It’s not about wanting or not wanting to do Scientology . . . The issue is that [Miscavige] is taking down this church and hurting people and families.”
Scientology denies that Leah Remini is done with them, but of course they’re going to deny it.
I was sifting through Leah’s Twitter today and she’s been hinting that she left Scientology by re-tweeting quotes like this one:
When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves. – Viktor Frankl
That quote was actually cut off. Viktor Frankl went on to say, “And if the situation involves Scientology, RUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNN and take Juliette Lewis with you….. and Elisabeth Moss too!”

He's still got the fever! John Travolta looks positively giddy as he dances with shirtless surfers on the beach in Rio
By SHYAM DODGE
|
He became famous for his flamboyant dance moves under the disco ball in the 1970s sensation Saturday Night Fever.
But nearly four decades later John Travolta still knows how to boogie for a big pay day.
The 59-year-old actor was spotted filming a commercial for a Brazilian brand of rum with some shirtless surfers cheering on his athletic two-step gamboling in Rio de Janeiro, on Wednesday.
Disco fever: John Travolta showed off his dance moves for a rum commercial in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Wednesday
The Look Who's Talking star sported pin stripe pyjama pants with a loose black T-shirt as he performed his choreographed jig.
Adorning his highly recognisable visage was a pair of aviator sunglasses as his chin was distinguished by a thin goatee contrasting sharply with his seemingly unnaturally thick bush of hair populating his scalp.
The actor showed off various complicated dance moves involving sophisticated footwork synchronised with complimentary hand gestures.
Cheering squad: Travolta was accompanied by a trio of shirtless surfers who appeared to be enamoured with his dance moves
Cutting it up: The 59-year-old actor was surprisingly agile for nearing the end of his sixth decade
Grooving: John and his cohorts appeared to be having a grand time in the sun and sand
As he cut up the sand with his disco moves the trio of shirtless surfers clapped and egged him on to perform at his highest level.
And Travolta appeared to be quite responsive to the encouragement, as he grooved in a solo jig with a massive smile plastered across his face.
But the day soon turned to other more athletic pursuits.
Keeping loose: The Grease star clearly still had his mojo as he grooved solo on the iconic beach
Sporting man: Travolta showed off his football skills on the sand
The actor could be seen playing football with his cohorts.
And he appeared to be a dab hand at the sport, as he easily kicked the black and white ball across the white sands.
Each of his crack shots had the sporting object skidding along the beach to his eager playmates with what appeared to be a practised ease.
Winding up: The actor is still clearly possessed of athletic grace as he played around with his ball
Kicking up a storm: The Look Who's Talking star stirred up a flurry of sand as he launched the black and white ball into the air
Attractive stranger: Travolta met a beautiful woman on a street corner for a scene
Travolta was spotted earlier in the day filming scenes alternately with a beautiful woman in athletic running gear and a seaside merchant selling beach balls and swim gear.
According to Brazilian publication Exame.com, the actor piloted his own plane down to Rio to shoot the commercial for cachaça Ypióca's brand of rum.
He is said to have a private helicopter at his disposal during his stay in the Brazilian city.
Street vendor: The actor also shook hands with a beachside merchant
Mutually enjoyable: The two men parted with matching smiles on their faces
While Travolta initially shot to fame for his portrayal of a young Brooklyn disco dancer in Saturday Night Fever his acting career went into a downward spiral by the mid-1980s.
His comeback was Quentin Tarantino's 1994 movie Pulp Fiction.
Travolta stole the star-studded film with an iconic dance scene with Uma Thurman where he reprised his status as a Hollywood A-lister, proving that his skills as a dancer is one of his most lucrative assets.
The original: Travolta first shot to fame as a disco dancer in Saturday Night Fever in 1977
Comeback: The actor returned to the screen and to the dance floor in 1994's Pulp Fiction opposite Uma Thurman
Meanwhile, the actor recently attended a screening of his newest feature Killing Season at the British Film Institute in London's South Bank.
The film centres on two veterans of the Bosnian War - one American, one Serbian - who form an unlikely friendship that soon turns tense as one of them reveals their true intentions.
Killing Season also stars Robert DeNiro and is slated for release on July 12.
Double trouble: Travolta co-stars with Robert De Niro in Killing Season due in theatres July 12

Exclusive: Actress Leah Remini quits Scientology after years of 'interrogations'

“King of Queens” star Leah Remini is making a dramatic break from the Church of Scientology, a source said, after being subjected to years of “interrogations” and “thought modification” for questioning leader David Miscavige’s rule.
The source tells us Remini is quitting because of policies that don’t allow parishioners to question Miscavige’s management or the reported abuse of members of its Sea Org religious order — and for forcing followers to “disconnect” from family members branded as “suppressive persons” if they choose to leave the church.

“It all began when Leah questioned the validity of excommunication of people,” a source said of her decision. “She is stepping back from a regime she thinks is corrupt. She thinks no religion should tear apart a family or abuse someone under the umbrella of ‘religion.’ ”
Former Sea Org member Mike Rinder blogged this week that at Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ 2006 wedding, Remini innocently asked where Miscavige’s wife, Shelly, was. Former Scientology Celebrity Centre head Tommy Davis scolded her, “You don’t have the [bleeping] rank to ask about Shelly.” Mrs. Miscavige reportedly hasn’t been seen in public since 2007.
As a result, Remini “was put through interrogations and blacklisted within the church that she donated millions to and that her family has spent their lives in. She was put through ‘thought modification’ for five years,” our source said.
The source added that church friends Remini had for “25 to 30 years wrote internal reports” about her that “caused an investigation on her family.”
Someone close to Remini said she’s weighing going public “when she sees what the church tries to do. She has heard they use people to scare you into silence.”
The source added, “She’s from Brooklyn. The church can’t hurt her . . . they don’t have her family, that’s all that matters to her.” And, “It’s not about wanting or not wanting to do Scientology . . . The issue is that [Miscavige] is taking down this church and hurting people and families.”
A Scientology rep denied all allegations.

“King of Queens” star Leah Remini has left the cult of Scientology, a source said, after being subjected to years of “interrogations” and “thought modification” for questioning leader David Miscavige’s rule.
Remini left the organization allegedly over questioning Miscavige’s management or the reported abuse of members and the alienation of family members branded as “suppressive persons” if they choose to leave the church.
“It all began when Leah questioned the validity of excommunication of people,” a NYPost source said.

Someone close to Remini said she’s weighing going public “when she sees what the church tries to do. She has heard they use people to scare you into silence.”
Leah Remini, an actress on the show King of Queens, has reportedly quit Scientology, claiming that she was interrogated by the church. She had been devoted to Scientology for 30 years - along with giving millions of dollars in donations. However, an incident at the Scientology wedding of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes left her questioning the church.
Remini is believed to be leaving the organization because she is against its policy of barring members from questioning the authority of Scientology leader David Miscavige.
A source told the New York post that the rift began at the wedding of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes in 2006. Tom Cruise is a highly ranking member of Scientology.
Remini allegedly asked about Miscavige's wife Shelly's absence from the Tom Cruise Katie Holmes wedding, causing former head of the Scientology Celebrity Center Tommy Davis to berate her.
According to a blog by ex-Scientology member Mike Rinder, Davis said: 'You don't have the [bleeping] rank to ask about Shelly.'
Scientology leader Miscavige's wife has not been seen in public for six years.
The actress was then subjected to five years of 'thought modification', according to the Post.
Church friends, many of whom Remini had known for years, allegedly wrote reports on her and had her family investigated.
According to Mr Rinder's blog, Remini 'will no longer tolerate the squirreling and human rights abuses perpetrated in the church'.
However according to a contradictory blog post by Village Voice editor Tony Ortega on July 5, Remini remains loyal to the Scientology movement.
Ortega, who has investigated Scientology for 20 years, spoke to Remini's husband Angelo Pagán, who said neither he or his wife were at odds with the church and remained within the organization.
According to the Daily Mail, a Church of Scientology spokeperson said: 'The Church respects the privacy of parishioners and has no comment about any individual Church member.'
A lawyer who represented Remini last year has not responded to a request for comment on the allegations.
Leah Remini is one of the most recognizable faces of Scientology. Scientology has many celebrity members including Tom Cruise, John Travolta, Kirstie Alley and Juliette Lewis.
In an interview with CNN, she said of Scientology's critics: 'If somebody is going to get turned off about something because of what they read or heard, then that person's not smart enough to even enter a church.
'If you're really against something, then know what you're against.'
Remini promoted the launch of a Hollywood museum backed by Scientology. The museum is the
'Citizens Commission on Human Rights Psychiatry: An Industry of Death'. An important element of the Scientology religion is its criticism of psychiatry.

Remini, who was born in Brooklyn, New York, has been involved in the church for around 30 years after her mother joined in the 1970s.
Leah Remini married her King of Queens co-star Angelo Pagán in 200. The couple have a nine-year-old daughter Sofia Bella. The family lives in Los Angeles.
